Daniel "Danny" Ackerman is a PGA Professional with 30 years of experience and General Manager of golf operations at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia. A Wheeling native, Danny oversees three 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, and driving range at the Speidel Golf Club, along with clubhouse operations, food and beverage, and merchandising. His career includes work at U.S. Open host Pinehurst Resort and Nike Tour host Quail Hollow Resort in Ohio. Awards include the Southern Ohio Bill Strausbaugh Award (2005) and six-time Section Merchandiser of the Year. Teaching is his "Zen time" — an outlet from daily management duties.
