Tommy O'Brien Jr. is a PGA Teaching Professional and the Director of Instruction at BlackHawk Country Club in Richmond, Texas, who also provides instruction at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. A Houston native, O'Brien played collegiately on the Sam Houston State University golf team before entering the PGA program, earning his membership in 2003.

O'Brien has built a reputation as one of the top instructors in Texas through more than 25 years of professional teaching. He was selected as one of GOLF Magazine's Teachers to Watch for 2026-2027 and named to the Golf Digest Best in State list for Texas. He previously earned the Southern Texas PGA Eastern Chapter Teacher of the Year award in 2018.

A student of the game's greatest minds, O'Brien has trained under World Golf Hall of Famers Jim Hardy and Chuck Cook, GOLF Magazine Top 100 instructor Jim Murphy, and renowned short game expert Stan Utley. He holds advanced certifications including AimPoint Golf Level IV, TrackMan Level II, Swing Catalyst Level II, and Sport Box AI Level I. His impact-based teaching philosophy focuses on contact quality and helping students develop the ability to self-diagnose their swings, combining range work with on-course application for lasting improvement.
