About Chris

Chris Cain, Ph.D., PGA Master Professional, is the Director of the PGA Golf Management program at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and leader of the Dwaine Knight Center for Golf Management. A Penn State PGA University graduate (B.S. 1998) who spent 13 years working in public, resort, and private golf settings before earning his Ph.D. from UNLV in Higher Education, Chris bridges academia and the golf industry. He was elected to the PGA of America Board of Directors in 2024 representing District 14 and received the 2025 Bill Strausbaugh Award. His research portfolio exceeds one million dollars in contracts and grants, including golf performance analytics.
