  • Private (1-on-1): $75–$175 per hour
  • Group clinics: $25–$60 per person
  • Junior lessons: $40–$80 per session
  • Playing lessons (on-course): $150–$250+
  • Lesson packages: 10–20% off single-lesson rates

Always ask about package pricing before booking — committing to a series is more cost-effective and ensures continuity in your development.

What certifications should I look for in a golf instructor in Westfield?

PGA of America certification is the gold standard. Also look for LPGA Teaching Division, TPI (Titleist Performance Institute), and USGTF credentials. These designations indicate the instructor has completed rigorous training — it's a meaningful signal of quality.

How many golf lessons do I need as a beginner?

Most beginners need 6–10 lessons before feeling comfortable playing a full round. Lessons 1–2 focus on grip, stance, and basic mechanics. By lessons 3–5 you'll add chipping and putting. A solid beginner package typically costs $400–$800 total depending on your instructor in Westfield.

Let me respond to Patrick numnuts here. You guys let me use the my putter the first year then said I could use it the second year. That is wrong and your committee can go shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. It’s not a bogus review. Let’s talk about some of your members. Gary pollard is a phoney who says one thing and means another. Mark consulini is a drunk and makes up his own rules as he goes along. Eric Nelson is definitely the worst pro and ruined a relationship with people I golfed with because he wasn’t honest. I’ve used the putter at Edgewood, tekoa, copper hill, Kenny park. You guys are real tough behind someone’s back. You wouldn’t stand 5 minutes saying that to my face

The best golf pro in area! Eric is an incredible golfer and an even better guy. From his golf lessons, to how he manages the pro shop, you can tell he is a professional. Shaker Farms is extremely lucky to have him!

Eric is a great professional, And an excellent putting instructor. The guy below under TC was told, not by Mr. Nelson, but by the shaker farms tournament committee that he wasnt allowed to anchor his putter while playing in club events. A bogus one star rating.

Eric is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He always talks to me even when he is sick of me. He is an amazing golfer and the best I know. And he also a wonderful manger.

Eric Nelson is the worst golf professional there is. He has no guts and just does what the wonderful members tell him to do without any say. He ruins relationships with people who are friends by not telling these people the truth of what has actually took place in a situation. Shaker farms has no direction as a golf course because the drunk members think they are better than everyone else, especially mark consulini. I thought joe mcglaughlin was the worse pro I’ve ever met but Eric is the worse. Don’t trust him as far as you can throw something
