Scott Davenport was one of the most respected PGA Professionals in the United States, serving as Head PGA Professional and Director of Golf at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina for 27 years. Under his leadership, the club hosted the 2017 and 2025 PGA Championships, the 2022 Presidents Cup, and the annual PGA Tour event now known as the Truist Championship. Born in 1956, Davenport grew up in Alabama and Pennsylvania before building his distinguished career at some of the nation's finest clubs, including Sea Island Club in Georgia and North River Yacht Club in Alabama. He was recognized by Business North Carolina as one of 15 leaders playing influential roles in the state's golf industry and was known as a mentor to generations of young golf professionals. Scott passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026 after complications from a medical procedure. His legacy lives on through the countless professionals he mentored and the world-class events he helped bring to Charlotte.
