Ty Andersen is a PGA Professional and Director of Instruction at the Ty Andersen Golf Academy at Highland Oaks Golf Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Dothan, Alabama. A Boston native, Ty graduated from Boston College on an ice hockey scholarship with a Marketing degree, later earning a Master's in Business from Central Michigan University and the equivalent of a second Master's in Military Education from the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force before pursuing his passion for golf full-time. Ty obtained his PGA Membership in record time, finishing in the Top 5% at all three PGA Business Schools. Named one of the Top 50 Kids Teachers in the U.S. by US Kids Golf, he has developed seven PGA Play Golf America programs. His honors include Junior Leader of the Year and the inaugural Presidents Plaque Award for the South Florida PGA, and he has been appointed to the PGA Presidents Growth of the Game Council.
