About Berne
Berne Finch is a PGA golf instructor at San Jose Municipal Golf Course, a public facility managed by the City of San Jose that serves as one of the South Bay's most accessible and affordable public golf venues and provides instruction to the full range of the Silicon Valley golf community regardless of budget or club affiliation. The municipal format means Finch works with a genuinely diverse student population — beginners picking up the game in retirement, students from nearby San Jose State working on their games, competitive amateurs who use the public course as a home base, and recreational players who just want to stop losing balls on every hole. His instruction in this context is practical and results-oriented, focused on changes that hold up on the course rather than refinements that only show up on the driving range.

I made a appointment with Berne for a new driver. My old Cobra clubs are so outdated. I was amazed at the way he walked thru the fitting and all the advice he gave me. He was attentitive to my needs and let me try all the different top brands. After watching my swing he made some quick adjustments in the club and instatntly my ball flight and direction improved. He knew exactly how to adapt the club to my swing rather than trying to change my swing to match the club. I found the Ping G425 to be my choice without a doubt! It delivered the best ball speed even though my club swing was a little slower than a few of the other clubs I tested. His process thru the fitting was detailed and he explained everything in a easy to understand manner. I would highly recommend his service to anyone who needs a skilled professional to help them make the most out of their game without changing your natural ability. I think he maximized my potential! In closing my review let me just say.... The fitting session exceeded my expectations and I am not so easy to please.
