About Gary
Gary Griggs is a 25-year PGA member and the Director of Instruction at Stadium Golf Center in San Diego, where he has taught since 1997. Named the 1998 San Diego PGA Teacher of the Year, Gary has been consistently ranked among Golf Digest's Top 50 instructors in California across multiple years. Born and raised in San Diego, he began his PGA apprenticeship in 1980 at Stardust Country Club before expanding to Del Mar Golf Center where he developed their PGA teaching program. Gary's teaching philosophy emphasizes the critical importance of short game fundamentals alongside full swing instruction, enabling students to transfer their skills effectively to the course. His students range from beginners and juniors to accomplished amateurs, Nationwide Tour, and Senior PGA Tour players.
