About Kip
Kip Puterbaugh is the founder of the Aviara Golf Academy in Carlsbad, California, one of the longest-running golf schools in the Western United States. A University of Houston golf scholarship graduate (1970), Kip competed nationally and internationally before entering instruction in 1972. He opened the Academy in 1991 at the Arnold Palmer-designed Aviara Resort Course. Over his 50-plus year teaching career, Kip has coached PGA Tour members Scott Simpson, Dennis Paulson, Larry Mize, and Loren Roberts, as well as LPGA Tour players Natalie Gulbis and Jenna Daniels. His academy employs cutting-edge swing analysis technology including Swing Catalyst, Foresight, Gears, and FlightScope.
