Chi Choi is a PGA golf instructor at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, a cliffside course positioned directly above the Pacific Ocean in Orange County that plays as one of the most wind-influenced public layouts in Southern California. The coastal geography means that club selection is rarely straightforward — the marine layer produces variable conditions from morning to afternoon, and the prevailing onshore breeze regularly makes the hole play one to two clubs differently than its yardage suggests. Working with Choi at a course that requires this kind of environmental awareness builds wind-reading and shot adjustment skills that translate directly to lower scores on any course where the conditions aren't perfectly calm.
