What are the real odds you break 80? Or 90? Enter your last 10 scores and we'll tell you — with math.
Every golfer has a target score — "I want to break 90" or "I'm so close to breaking 80." But wanting it and having a realistic probability of achieving it are very different things. This tool uses basic statistics to give you an honest assessment.
The calculation uses a normal distribution based on your scoring average and standard deviation. Your standard deviation — how much your scores vary from round to round — is just as important as your average. A golfer who averages 88 with tight consistency (±3) has very different odds of breaking 80 than one who averages 88 with wild swings (±8).
The results can be either validating or humbling. If you average 92 and want to break 80, you might discover the odds are under 1%. That's not discouraging — it's informative. It tells you that to make breaking 80 a realistic goal, you need to drop your average by roughly 8 shots first. Focus on getting to where breaking 85 is probable before chasing 80.
The tool also tells you exactly how much you need to improve your average to reach a 50% probability for each target. Find an instructor who can help you close that gap systematically.
